Greetings! I am Kenny White, a Mass Media student at College of the Ozarks, in Missouri, USA.
My Twitter handle is KennyWhite16, and my PSN name is Fatalis_Veritas (It's Latin, so it's automatically cool.)
So why would I write this blog? Well, I can hardly remember a time in my life before video games, as I have been playing them since I was only 6. #Thuglife
Since then, I have developed a passion for video games, and they have become my favorite storytelling medium as I have matured in my appreciation of them.
As video games continue to saturate our society, increasing in their influence both culturally and economically all the time, I feel that it is important for people to understand a thing or two about what makes video games so powerful. The sense of urgency I feel about this increases as I see games supplanting books, films, and other narrative works as my generation's method of storytelling. It is my hope, that with increased awareness of what goes into a quality video game, consumers will be able to identify what they want. With this acumen, people (players especially) will be in a position to demand games truly worthy of replacing books as the artistic means for telling stories, preserving ideas, social commentary, and whatever else young people stop turning to legacy media for.
Well, there's my manifesto, if you will. Now let's get down to some bloggy-business:
-You should read the "Science" section first, as it succinctly boils down the objective knowledge behind the reasoning I will use in writing the rest of the blog.
-Also, I should say that any views expressed on this blog or in its comments do not reflect those of the College of the Ozarks. Just in case you were wondering about that.
Anyway, thank you for reading, and as always, your comments are very much appreciated!
-Kenny White
